The matrons of Sonoma musuem are doing a similar calendar. There's a video link at KRON 4, the local news station.

Are you sure, I think it only opened in the US today so maybe it just hasn't got to your area yet.
I think its going to do well, the theatre we went to was fairly full, and everyone seemed to love it. We were the only ones laughing for the first 10 minutes, probably because at that stage the Americans perhaps didn't get what the WI is, but they soon got into the swing of it. Everyone clapped at the end.
I always like to evesdrop on people's conversations as they leave the movie and everyone was saying how much they enjoyed it. Hope it does well over here.

Ah, the TV here kept saying it was open last week and it wasn't on any local cinemas near us either. We thought we were going to have to go into NYC to go and see it! I'm going to go and have a look and see if it is on here now. Can't wait to go and see it. )

Yes Zed I would recommend it as a great girls night movie. Here is the website for the movie
http//calendargirls.movies.go.com/
Here is some more info on the real Calendar Girls and why they did the calendar. I wouldn't read it until after you have seen the movie as it would spoil the story for you but it is interesting to read after you have seen the movie
http//dspace.dial.pipex.com/lrf-/fundraising/calendar_girls.htm
This is another interesting website but again you might want to take a look after you have seen the movie rather than before.

Loved it....brilliant.
Lots of elderly couples in the audience who were laughing out loud....think they got it.
Gorgeous scenic views, made me a little homesick.

Got the dvd today and watched it. Thoroughly enjoyed it and found myself singing Jerusalem. Well, face it, if i was living back in Blighty I'd be rural and a member of the WI. D
Had to add my fav line was where the hubby met Helen mirren when she came home and said the kid had made a quiche with oregano on Tuesday and they'd been stoned ever since. lol
