Apologies to everyone about the downtime of Britnet over the last week.

The computer that Britnet runs on is based in Ottawa, Canada. When the power went out, the machine went down. It wouldn't boot up once power returned.

After a frustrating weekend trying to get my co-location provider to look at it I decided to have the disks shipped back to Britnet HQ in Dallas.

I have recovered most of the files that were on the corrupt disk. The disk has been replaced and a whole new system has been built. The case has 6 fans to keep the components cooler. A new motherboard with an AMD 2400+ processor and one gigabyte of memory. There is also 120GB of combined hard disk space.

A new co-location provider has been located that is in Dallas. It's now going to cost about $900US rather than $900 Canadian to keep Britnet alive so please keep in mind that subscriptions help to keep us going.

Some of the files that Britnet uses was on the bad hard disk and as a result some parts may not be functioning properly. Please alert me as soon as possible with as much detail as you can about any problems.

Regards
Nigel
