Hopefully someone will know the answer to this question

My son is 15 and living in the UK

He is interested in joing the coast guard academy here in USa in 2 or 3 years time

he can enter as a british citizen with the British gov. paying for his 4 years initial training . However at the end of the 4 years he has to serve another 3 or 4 years in the Uk for the british coast guards

he would like to join as a US citizen but I will not get my citixen ship unti 2 years after February .

HOW quick can my son get citizenship after I recieve mine ?

thanks for any help
I'm assuming that he is living with his mother who is not a US citizen. Therefore, when you naturalise, he won't be able to get derivative citizenship as this requires both parents to be US citizens.

He will have to get citizenship in his own right which means he has to live in USA for five years and be at least 18 years old. There is a provision for military people in active service which I wouldn't think extends to attendance in military school.

Your wife can sponsor him to come to the US as an immediate relative - this would take about a year for the I-130 to process, and he would be a permanent resident from day 1.
